Resplendent Chiswick House

Took this photo with Hipstamatic as part of the Mobitog Hipsta challenge nominating a lens, film and flash.  Not particularly keen on the combination which was Tejas Lens, Ina’s 1969 Film and Berry Pop Flash.  For this photo I did not use the Flash.
I didn’t like the results of the Hipsta shot so I cropped the frame off with Crop Suey, I then ran it through different filters in PhotoToaster.  I wanted an edgy blurred effect and improve the colours.  That image I took into AutoPainter and AutoPainter II and ran about 3 different effects.  Took them all into Iris and blended them.  Once I was happy with the result took it back into PhotoToaster to add a frame.
Very pleased that it is featured in CreateHive today!

FX Photo Studio iPhoneography Show

I submitted 5 photos which were accepted to the FX Photo Studio iPhoneography Show.  The Show is currently being held in the Soho Gallery for Digital Art in New York.  Out of 10,000 photos from more than 1500 photographers 200 were chosen for the show!  This is the Article
And – 2 of mine were in the Show!!!  I was so delighted and honoured to be amongst so many truly wonderful and awesome iphoneographers!  My lovely friend and fellow iPhoneographer/Mobitoger Catherine attended the show and she was so kind to take photos of our photos!
My beautiful swan – Majestic Beauty.  Took this photo a few weeks ago at Gunnersbury Park

Welcome to the Abbey – took this photo of Westminster Abbey when I went into London to meet up with Rinkey and Jim

Of Lines and Shadows

Syon House is about 5 minutes cycle ride from my house and it is so beautiful.  It has the most amazing Conservatory.  I took this photo in the summer – the light, lines, shadows are magnificent!  I could go visit it every day!
Took this photo with ClassicPan and cropped a bit of the edges with Crop Suey.  Did a bit of processing with Snapseed and then took photo into PhotoToaster where I added the blueish filter to it and the frame.
Anyhow, very chuffed it has been featured in Pixels today!

Delightful Riverside

I love Richmond – used to work there up to 3 1/2 years ago and I miss working there!  Used to be able to walk to work, mostly by the river, had all the shops to wander round at lunchtime and had delightful views of the riverside plus some wonderful sunsets at wintertime!  Unfortunately in those days I did not have an iphone!   Now I work in the most horrendous place in Chertsey, in the middle of nowhere and I hate it so much!  In addition I have to drive a 32 mile round trip journey!
Took this photo from across Richmond Bridge and my office used to be on the right hand side of the amazing Richmond Riverside development!
And yeeyyyyyy it has been featured in Pixels!

I took the photo with ClassicPan.  Used Filterstorm to brighten certain areas of the photo.  I then ran 3 different filters with AutoPainter and AutoPainterII and took them into Iris, blending them with the original and masking some areas out.  This is the original photo

Street Photography

I joined a West London Meetup Photography group.  They had arranged a “crowd photography” afternoon, meeting up at the National Portrait Gallery.  I was the only one with an iphone lol!  I have never taken any street photography so was kind of nervous and scared!  I decided to take photos with Hipstamatic – Matty ALN Lens and BlacKeys film.  The weather was lovely and the Southbank in London full of people.  There is an area for Skateboarders and BMXers so spent some time taking photos there.
I joined a Flickr group called Shoot the Street and posted my photos.  I was so chuffed to be featured as Photo of the Day on 28th September, with this photo!

Apps Uncovered from www.iphoneographycentral.com also has a Flickr group and on a Friday Nicki choosed 12 images to be featured in Apps Uncovered.  I took this photo on the Tube going into London to the Meetup – couldn’t resist taking the photo of these two women sitting opposite me!  They were featured in Apps Uncovered on 30th September

And on 14th October another photo of the day was featured too.  This one I took walking in the Southbank.

Went to an Instragram Meetup in London – where first stop was a small talk at the Apple Store in Covent Garden.  Took this photo going down the stairs and was really happy that this one too got featured in Apps Uncovered on 28th October!

Where to Start!

Oh boy its been over 2 months since I blogged and I am loving iphoneography more and more every day!  Not to mention being included in several amazing Facebook pages and making so many new friends!  My style keeps changing and I love experimenting with apps, both in taking photos and editing them!
I belong to an amazing iphoneography community Mobitog – it started small and is run by the amazing Roger and Matt – both in the UK.  It is such a lovely community, several different types of weekly challenges and everyone extremely friendly and helpful!  If you are into iphoneography or starting up, definitely come join us.
I am so chuffed that so many of my images have been featured in different places!
Four have been in Pixels with Leshon being The Daily Pic on 30 October

There is a lovely little carousel in the Southbank in London and I was there with Rinkey and Jim a few weeks ago.  Took photo with Hipstamatic and processed it with PhotoToaster.
From the Other Side of the River :

I cycled to Kew Gardens one Sunday afternoon and to get to Kew I cross to the other side of the river.  On my way back the light was amazing and the view in the photo is of Old Isleworth (couple minutes walk from my flat).  Took photo with ClassicPan and processed it with AutoPainter, AutoPainterII and blended them all in Iris.
Summer Times was also taken with ClassicPan and processed with both AutoPainters and Iris.  Took this photo from Richmond Bridge – such a beautiful view.

Royal Doorway :

Went to Ham House a few weeks ago when I had a day off!  It’s beautiful!  Can’t believe I had never been considering it just up the road from Richmond!  Took photo with Hipstamatic and processed it with PhotoToaster.
More to follow!

Visiting Kew Gardens

Friday was an odd day, it wasn’t raining!!  I bought a yearly pass to visit Kew Gardens so cycled there for a couple of hours in the afternoon.  It’s only about 4 miles from me, along the river.  This is a photo of  The Palm House

Moscow

I flew out to Moscow on Sunday for work.  Went to train all the sales people on all our systems so was there til yesterday, Friday.  I was very lucky to stay in a beautiful hotel, the Baltschug Kempinski and I could walk over the bridge into the Red Square when I had a bit of spare time.  The whole area was simply spectacular!  I was extremely lucky that the 5 days I was there the weather was amazing, blue sky, sunny and warm!  I took so many photos that I am still processing them so will do separate posts as I go along.
First set are photos taken with Hipstamatic – the Dali Lens and DreamCanvas Film – love love the results, especially on buildings!

All above are photos of St Basil’s Cathedral which is breathtaking!  Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to go inside the cathedral but if ever I go back to Moscow I will.  All photos are straight out of my iPhone4 so I have not done any processing to them.  The Dali does not show the amazing colours of the Cathedral, but the effects are so cool!
There is a beautiful building on one side of the Red Square – again all photos taken with Hipstamatic – some with Dali and the others with Watts.

Sidetracked!!

Lynne’s fault!  We were skyping yesterday and I was showing her some of the apps on my iPad and how to use them!  I tried out one of my hipstamatic photos and really liked the results!  So have been working on some of my photos with this style!  Most of the photos are of Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye and one from Windsor Castle.
